I have bought a symphony FT 40, 2 month ago. And during this time I haven't face too much problem with the handset. Though the function it should have given is not att all in full to go.
When you are searching for something in the internet– it will sure piss you off.
Sometime it also get hanged. Mainly when you will use internet for a long time or java based application then you sure want to through it in the ground. Two of my friend is also using the same handset and one of them told me yesterday that his screen is showing some kind of lines in it. I am sure it's the problem of the screen not the software.
The camera is only two megapixel and it's quality is not at the high standard. It is obvious that all of the symphony mobile is in low price regarding their design and function but they never tried to improve their camera quality.
Sound quality of FT 40 is good, actually better to the previous ones. The sliding and 3D menu with live wall paper is also a good to go option. I love they way they did it.
I though I could stream video with this mobile from YouTube, but I tried and failed several times. Ye some 3GP videos can be streamed.
Next if you are going to connect it in your PC to use it as a modem you might fail. I haven't find the software for this version and windows 7 never lets the modem installed. Though it finds the modem phone but there is always an error. And this is not only in my case. 99% says they couldn't connect it as a modem.
AS mass storage and USB webcam you can use this- no problem.

As a Bangladeshi brand I am not totally disappointed with this mobile, but I think they should give more support for this mobile and most of the people I know says this is a good mobile, but the users says they are facing several problems.
You can't install any working JAVA game in it. the resulation of the game or touch pad optimized games are not found in the web.
A company like Symphony should know that users of this mobile will try to install some java games and show to others that this phone is nice. What i wanted is to use internet properly i n this mobile, I am disappointed as some time I face problems like the Sim profile get deleted.
Better to luck with a new brand next time. But still I am fond of symphony for their options and out look.

Though there is a NimBuzz for you in FT 40 you can use ebuddy for better chat performance. The ebuddy website will give you .jad file that can't be installed in FT 40. Try this one here: eBuddy-2.2-Final.jar

First of all this is a java phone and not the java plus also. Most of the widgets the gave in the menu doesn't work. Actually they couldn't configure them like Nokia or Samsung. So if you are looking for a better mobile in this price never buy this one. There are androids available now in this price.

There is the Samsung new android phone in 13000 BDt again kingstar has an android phone. I don't know about it yet. But it is better to buy an android rather than the symphony's 3rd class java phone. otherwise go for nokia.
Symphony did only one thing- brought some cheap phone that goes down within a year
