Many people these days love to speculate about zombie survival scenarios. While some folks would say that it’s morbid or crazy, I get it. It’s fun in a weird way to think about how you would handle such an intense situation. How would you survive? Could you survive? Well, I will play along. I think I have some experience that may apply to this discussion, so I will throw it out there for fun. For starters, grab a bar mace, a Bosch Multi Cutter, and some protective clothing if you want to take a bumpy ride into the zombie apocalypse.
If you want to know what the ultimate zombie survival melee weapon would be, look up the bar mace. They are often made pretty heavy, so a lighter version may be better. This is like a flanged mace but the flanges go all the way down to the handle. It looks like a blunt, four-edged sword. When you look at the tip, the four bars kind of make a plus sign. This is a far better zombie killing weapon than any sharp blade because it will crush a skull and brain like a melon, it can be used without any training, and it doesn’t get stuck in things. Everyone loves their swords, me included. But for zombies you need a quick brain basher. Swords are generally made to puncture organs and open up arteries. It is trickier that you probably think to keep the edge toward your opponent and use the proper form when fighting with a sword, especially when you are tired and facing multiple opponents. Swords love to get stuck in wooden door frames, skulls, etc. too, and it’s easy to nick the edge up really badly. Keep it simple. If you can’t get or make a bar mace, get some other wicked, quick blunt instrument that will crush a skull with the flick of the wrist – jack handles, steel pipe, crowbars, etc.
